Dairy Industry Expert Brings Extensive Experience

Canal Fulton, Ohio – Stan Palmer, former Area Vice President Agribusiness East for Ecolab, Inc, has joined Hills Supply as business manager effective April 1, 2019. Mr. Palmer brings more than 40 years of experience in the dairy industry to his new role at Hills Supply, Ohio’s leading dairy service and supply company.

Hills Supply co-owners Frank Burkett and Mick Heiby shared their excitement as they welcomed Stan to the business manager’s role. Mick Heiby said, “Our Experience as dairymen working on dairy farms and for dairy farmers is part of what sets us apart from other dairy supply companies. Adding Stan to our team brings another layer of knowledge and experience that will greatly benefit our customers.” Burkett went on to say, “Stan is an excellent addition to our management team and we look forward to seeing the many ways his leadership and experience in our industry benefit our customers.”

Mr. Palmer started his career in the dairy industry with Milk Marketing, Inc., where he served as both a field representative and field supervisor. In 1986 he began working for Ecolab as an Agri-Specialist. He rapidly advanced, serving as a District Manager, Regional Manager, and Area Vice President of the company’s Dairy Plant Sales and Service. Most recently, he was the Area Vice President Agribusiness East where he managed the sales and service organizations for the Eastern and Southwestern United States.

During his tenure with Ecolab, Mr. Palmer led the milk quality, cleaning, and sanitizing training program. His experience covers a wide scope of the dairy production and processing industry. In addition to his experience in the dairy industry, Stan has also served as a Volunteer Fire Fighter/First Responder and Fire Chief. He resides in Canton, Ohio with his wife of 40 years, Mira.

As he begins his new role with Hills Supply, he is excited about the opportunity to bring his vast experience to bear on the challenges being faced by dairy farmers in and around Ohio. He said, “Leadership has been an important part of my life and career. My leadership development started as a High School Athlete, and with involvement in Vocational Agriculture and FFA. I have been a Leader in the communities where Mira and I have lived.  I look forward to providing leadership and support to the fabulous team at Hills Supply and to the customers we serve.”
