OWNERS

Frank BurkettOwner

Frank Burkett has been immersed in agriculture and dairy farming his whole life. “I grew up with the dairy industry. When it was summer, weekends, or holidays, I was on my grandparents farm,” he said. “My grandparents and uncles taught me well and started an ever growing love and appreciation for agriculture and the dairy industry.”

After graduating from The Ohio State University with a degree in agricultural systems management and a minor in agricultural economics, he returned to his family’s dairy where he shepherded the operation through a period of growth and modernization. He is the managing partner of Clardale Farms, where they milk 695 head of Holstein cattle, raise replacement heifers, and farm over 900 acres for feed production.

Frank is the current president of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, a position he was elected to in 2016. He also serves as the Farm Bureau District 9 trustee representing members from Columbiana, Mahoning, Portage, and Stark counties. Prior to his election as president, he served as the organization’s first vice president for two years and on the state Farm Bureau board beginning in 2007.

He is a past board member for Ohio Dairy Producers Association and is a member of Rivertree Christian Church.

Mick Heiby Owner & Sales Manager

Mick Heiby grew up on a stone quarry farm in Mercer County, Ohio. After his graduation from The Ohio State University –ATI with a degree in dairy science he started milking cattle and was partner in several operations including Dalwood Farms, where they milked 450 head. Mick then went to work for Milk Marketing, Inc as a field representative after which he served as Farm Inspection Section Head for the Ohio Department of Agriculture for 8 years. After adding a BBA from Mount Vernon Nazarene University to his education, Mick then worked at National City Bank as vice president of agricultural banking.

Mick joined Hills Supply, Inc., in 2009 as a hygiene specialist and transitioned into sales and account management. He brings more than 33 years of experience in the dairy industry to his new role. “I’m honored to serve the dairy industry through this opportunity provided by the Hill family,” he said. “I’m looking forward to building our customer focused business and working with Frank to be good stewards of a company with a 40 year history.”
Mick is married to Ellen, his wife of 39 years and has 3 children; Greg – married to Megan, Tiffany – married to Matt, and Bethany. Along with 6 grandchildren. He resides near Ashland, Ohio on a farm purchased from his wife’s family where they currently raise beef cattle, and dairy show heifers. Mick and Ellen are members of Wooster Nazarene Church.

Mick lives by the motto: “Everything I have I owe to God and ‘udders’ !“
